    What is the best way to improve speed? I really struggle with the 5k. Not that calculators are king, BUT according to them, my half marathon PR predicts a 5k that is nearly a full minute faster than my current PR. What is crazier to me is that some of my mid-race mile splits in the half are nearly equivalent to my 5k PR pace. I would like to work on this between spring and fall seasons next year, so just curious!

        Thanks! I’ve decided I want to work on speed – primarily 5ks – for the winter into spring/early summer after my half on 10/23, so it would be super helpful to get some guidance. The ultimate goal is to eventually crush a very very old PR (we’re talking high school cross country days – about 60-90 seconds to take off) 👍🏻

    Rest day question: due to travel, I had to take a Monday rest day instead of a Wednesday rest day. Should I rest twice this week or swap days?

      In future, no. Swap or move days around if you can. An easy day instead of an off day between the workouts is fine. A lot of people actually feel better for the second workout
