Hi folks, real quick question. Im currently doing the Metric 16week HM plan and as I looked ahead, I was curious. In my previous Hanson Half plan Ive used, specifically the Beginner 18 week plan, the longest runs were 12 miles. On this Metric 16 week HM plan, the longest run is only 15k (9.3 miles) Is this by design? Just curious about some insight in that regard. Thank you for your time!

It probably depends on what the peak volume is. What is the peak volume of the 16 week plan you are currently using? It should be right in the title of the plan.

Thanks Luke – It’s 40km. So is this essentially the same concept as with the Full marathon, in that you don’t necessarily need to to come close to the full race distance in training? (I believe your plans it’s 16 for the Marathons) Thanks!

Correct! 15km would be in the 30% range of weekly volume.
