Hi! Not sure if appropriate to post here buuuut maybe you can give me some advice. Heading to Berlin in 2 weeks. Following the Beginner Plan and missed long run last week (week 15) – 16 miles due to a cold. All better now and able to resume training. Do I skip the long run or do I replace this week‘s 10 miler with the 16 miler? I’m def stressing over missing the long run during peak week. Thanks to all you experienced folks out there!

Hi! Can you try tagging one of the coaches for more input?

Don’t stress about it. I’m assuming you got your 16 milers in for week 11 and 13 which are just as important as week 15’s long run. Other coaches can chime in as well, but I would say go 12-14 if you are feeling good instead of the 10 miler. But I would lean more toward the 12 miles.

Hello! Thank you – yes I had completed all 16 milers before that. Another wrench was thrown – food poisoning last night (Sat) only allowed for 5 miler this morning (sigh) so I could do the 10-12 miler tmr (Monday), then jump into the last strength workout on Tuesday, then rest, then last MP miles. I hope this domino effect does not keep going.

Well, it’s nothing running related, so take that as a positive. If it were injury related then we would have a bigger problem. Get rested up, hydrate like crazy and pick up the schedule where it’s at. In the last two weeks, the fitness is either there, or not. Really can’t do much to change it.
