Friday Night All-Comers Track Meets

Unfortunately, we have made the decision to cancel the track series. We were told what a great idea it was (and I thought so too). However, that did not translate to entries into the meet. I made the decision to cancel the Novi event last week because there were only two races with more than two athletes in the race.
As of today, only three people had entered the Royal Oak meet. And, our meet at Romeo was going to have to be greatly altered because, well, let’s just say, another sport wanted the field inside the track at the same time. So, everything in my gut said that it was time to just call the series.
I still think it’s a good idea and there’s not much out there in Southeast Michigan for youth and adults to get on the track in a family fun setting. We just needed people to sign up in advance to get field sizes and only a handful did. That’s on me as I don’t think I stressed that enough. We learned some things and will hopefully be able to try again next year.
Track is back! This summer I will be hosting, along with my friends at Eastside Racing Company, a series of Friday evening track meets. The goal is fun, family, and racing! We will have meets for youth, middle school, high school, and open divisions. If you are looking to get your kids out to race, or you want to see what you can do for a mile, come on out. We are looking to just have fun and enjoy the great sport of track.
We will have three track meets in the series.

The entry fee for each athlete is $10 if you register online. $15 if you register at the gate. This fee is for the meet, not per event. Feel free to register for multiple events- it’s the same price!
Gates open at 6 pm and racing will start approx 6:30 pm. Note: We will be doing a rolling schedule. The schedule will be posted closer to the meet date. Some divisions may be combined if the number of entries permit. For example, we may combine the youth boys and girls 100-meter dash.
